Kenya Airways

Kenya Airways is the leading African airline flying to over 53 destinations worldwide (43 of which are in Africa) and carries three million passengers annually.

In 1995, Kenya Airways entered into an alliance with Dutch carrier KLM. In 2010 alone, Kenya Airways added four key African destinations. These are South Sudan’s capital city Juba, Luanda in Angola, Northern Mozambique’s hidden gem Nampula and Kenya’s coastal town of Malindi. The airline also opened a new route to Rome, Italy, in December 2010.

To support its rapid route expansion whilst maintaining efficiency, Kenya Airways took possession of five new aircraft in 2010. The airline’s fleet consists of 31 aircraft with advanced plans for additional aircraft to be delivered in 2011.

In 2005 Kenya Airways became the first airline in sub-Sahara Africa to achieve the IOSA certification (IATA Operational Safety Audit), a rigorous safety standard.
